Nail Technician

I love doing nail designing and I would want to have a certificate in that but my mom thinks I won’t make money as a nail technician, I have a book portfolio of all my nail designs that I do and my mom won’t let me go to beauty school I just want a certificate in something that am really good at and it’s nail designing.It’s not like I want to work at a nail salon because I do want to go to college and get a degree in business and having a certificate in nails is like a back up for me especially if people see my nail art portfolio book and want me to do their nails. I do a lot of people nails for like special occasions when they don’t want to go to the nail salon and pay so much because i only charge $15-$20 and my friend who is a photographer lets me do models nails when he is taking pictures of the models.

so my question is:

Do i need a certificate to be a nail technician especially if am doing people’s nails?
should I go to beauty school?

, Yes. You need to be licensed in anything that involved the Cosmetology Industry. It is illegal(In the US.) for people to charge without being license, and if the state board ever found out, You would be fined. Once your 18….No one can stop you from doing what you want to do. If you want to become a Nail Tech, Take the Nail course. But you do need to be 17-18 before you can even enter school.
