So, I’m nearing my senior year, and I really want to go to beauty school to be a nail technician. I was looking at the new york institute of beauty and they have campuses in Islandia and Syosset.
I’m an Ohio citizen, so attending that school would require me to live somewhere around there. So what would the average cost be for me to live there? Including rent, food, etc. Only the necessities, I know what all the extras will cost.

NYC is pretty expensive to live in…especially the city. But the institute is in Long Island, if im correct? Check their website, and im pretty sure they have a selective or sample areas/neighborhoods to where students prefer to live in.
Food costs aren’t much to worry about especially since you have grocery stores nearby..typical costs & there are always coupons hey!
Maybe you should visit that area before you plan to go, it might make it a bit easier to familiarize the place at first and see what it has to offer. You can then decide what you like and what’s best for you.

I am going to be made redundant from my current job in about 4 wks, so have decided to train as a nail technician and start my own business form home. I am currently doing a business plan but have become stuck on a word for my business. I have thought of falttering fingertips or Elegant and Exquistite Nails…..please help me!!!!

Is it weird for a guy to be a nail technician? I’m intelligent and cute so the gals will want me !! My mom is opening up a nail salon, i’m thinking about working there…Majority of salons are owned by Asians with bad English (i’m asian 2) so i plan on stepping it up, dominating, and taking every customer in that area (very rich area)!!!! So ladies how would you feel about a cute young guy doing your nails? im 18

I don’t know any young guys or have heard of any doing nails but i don’t care !!!!! There’s ton of money to be made and I’ll get to meet a lot of GIRLS =) My good looks, charm, and skills shall get me a lot of clients !!!! i will dominate THIS BUSINESS hahahahhaaaaa XD

Dual System Form Acrylic Nails for Damage Repair

Damaged Natural Nail
Just when you thought it was safe to open the salon door……
In walks a client like “P”.
She had very severe burns to her hands many, many years ago, the surgeons basically fixed her up as best as possible.
As you will see, she now grows almost 2 separate nails from the one matrix (which was obviously severley damaged/melted) and healed quite “oddly”, to say the least.
The middle section is quite soft and quite pliable when pressed.
Dual System forms have been a godsend, as filing in this area is something that scares me quite a bit.
I would like to use a masking powder on her, but water seeps under the nail in that odd looking gap and discoloration (bordering on greenies) is quite common….. and I prefer to see what’s going on under a nail like this.
I’m sure this is gonna freak out quite a few on youtube …… buts it’s not often you see stuff like this done.

I will readily give advice to technicians that are learning, any “education theives” that want to teach themselves will be waiting for quite some time for answers.
